Description

Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth (MITY)'s purpose is to expand the knowledge, challenge the perspective, and inspire the futures of bright and motivated students in grades 1-12. Expand Your Mind is a full-day, two-week summer experience offered twice each summer on the campus of Macalester College. Students in grades 7-12 immerse themselves in an intense study of a single course of their choice during each session. Students either reside on campus in MITY dorms or commute daily (residing on campus is not available to students in grade 7). Courses offered are different in each session, and many students attend for the full four weeks.

Requirements

Students who apply should demonstrate interest, motivation, or special qualities that are not always determined by tests and grades. Transcripts, test scores, teacher recommendation, and essay are required. No one factor determines applicant selection.
